What this AD requires

We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. Applies to all serial numbers, if delivered before October 26, 2009. The listed A330 models and the A340-211/-212/-213/-311/-312/-313 models apply only where Airbus modification 48809 has been embodied in production; A340-541 and A340-642 are named directly without that modification condition.
