What this AD requires

We are superseding an existing airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. That AD currently requires initial and repetitive inspections of the low-pressure (LP) turbine discs stage 2 and stage 3 for corrosion, on certain serial number engines. This AD requires the same actions, but extends the applicability to additional engine serial numbers. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:

Repetitive inspection. Re-inspect. The next-due date/hours depend on this aircraft’s time in service — a records report computes it from the logbooks.

Part-conditional — M05300AA.

Applies only to Tay 650-15 engines bearing one of the specific serial numbers listed in AD Table 1 (carried forward from AD 2008-10-14) or Table 2 (added new in this AD), and only when low-pressure (LP) turbine module M05300AA is installed.
