Airworthiness Directive 99-01-14
one-timeAirworthiness Directives; Honeywell IC-600 Integrated Avionics Computers, as Installed In, But Not Limited To, Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica S.A. (EMBRAER) Model EMB-145 Series Airplanes
What this AD requires
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to certain Honeywell IC-600 integrated avionics computers, that requires modification of the integrated avionics computers. This amendment is prompted by a report of integrated avionics computer failures, which caused a ``random reset'' condition of the electronic flight instrument system. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent such ``random reset'' conditions, which could affect the pilot's ability to control the airplane.
Which aircraft AD 99-01-14 applies to
Applies to Honeywell IC-600 integrated avionics computers bearing the listed part numbers, as installed in any airplane regardless of that airplane's make/model. Installation of an unmodified unit (one of the listed part numbers not yet modified per Honeywell SB 7017000-22-43, dated March 24, 1998) is prohibited as of the effective date.
Whether AD 99-01-14 actually applies to your aircraft (by serial and installed parts) and whether it’s already complied with comes from that aircraft’s records.
How AD compliance is recorded
A valid compliance record (14 CFR 43.9) states:
Tailplate reads a tail number’s logbooks and matches every applicable AD — including this one — to its compliance evidence, with recurring next-due dates computed.
Look up a tail number →Read the full directive (Federal Register)Applicability is derived from the FAA directive corpus and is advisory, not a legal airworthiness determination. Compliance is established only from an aircraft’s actual records.
