What this AD requires

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to all Airbus Model A330 and A340 series airplanes. This action requires removal of three electric motor-driven hydraulic pumps (EHP) and associated wiring, and installation of placards in the flight deck. This amendment is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. The actions specified in this AD are intended to prevent operation of the EHP, which could result in fire in the wheel well area, and consequent damage to airplane structure or injury to airplane occupants.
