Airworthiness Directives; Allison Engine Company AE 3007A and AE 3007C Series Turbofan Engines

What this AD requires

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to Allison Engine Company AE 3007A and AE 3007C series turbofan engines. This action supersedes priority letter AD 98-02-09, that currently requires certain checks of the center sump magnetic chip collector plug for paste. Engines found with paste are required to be removed from service. This action references revisions of the applicable Alert Service Bulletins (ASB) providing clarifications of check procedures. This amendment is prompted by a change in the part number applicability, a change in the check interval, and the publication of these revised ASBs. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent No. 4 bearing failure due to excessive bearing wear, which can result in an inflight engine shutdown.

Applies only to engines with No. 4 bearing, Part Number 23062504, installed. Installed on but not limited to EMBRAER EMB-145 and Cessna 750 series aircraft.

Whether AD 98-11-32 actually applies to your aircraft (by serial and installed parts) and whether it’s already complied with comes from that aircraft’s records.

How AD compliance is recorded

A valid compliance record (14 CFR 43.9) states:

Method of complianceThe specific action taken (inspected, replaced, modified) and to what revision.
DateWhen the work was done.
Aircraft timeTotal time in service / tach at compliance — how recurring next-due is computed.
Signature & certificateThe A&P/IA who returned it to service, with certificate number.
Is AD 98-11-32 complied with on your aircraft?

Tailplate reads a tail number’s logbooks and matches every applicable AD — including this one — to its compliance evidence, with recurring next-due dates computed.

Applicability is derived from the FAA directive corpus and is advisory, not a legal airworthiness determination. Compliance is established only from an aircraft’s actual records.
