Airworthiness Directive 97-12-01
one-timeAirworthiness Directives; Cessna Model 650 Airplanes
What this AD requires
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain Cessna Model 650 airplanes. This action requires inspections to detect discrepancies of a certain wire bundle assembly and to detect discrepancies of the hydraulic pump suction line in the area above the baggage compartment; and corrective actions, if necessary. This AD also requires modification of the supports for the wire bundle cable assembly and the supports for the hydraulic pump suction line. This amendment is prompted by a report that, due to inadequate clearance, an alternating current (AC) wire chafed against the hydraulic pump suction line and caused electrical arcing. The actions specified in this AD are intended to prevent such electrical arcing and consequent fire hazard.
Which aircraft AD 97-12-01 applies to
AC wire bundle assembly and hydraulic pump suction line inspection/rework above the baggage compartment per Cessna SB650-24-57 (dated May 15 1997) to prevent electrical arcing and fire hazard.
Whether AD 97-12-01 actually applies to your aircraft (by serial and installed parts) and whether it’s already complied with comes from that aircraft’s records.
How AD compliance is recorded
A valid compliance record (14 CFR 43.9) states:
Tailplate reads a tail number’s logbooks and matches every applicable AD — including this one — to its compliance evidence, with recurring next-due dates computed.
Look up a tail number →Read the full directive (Federal Register)Applicability is derived from the FAA directive corpus and is advisory, not a legal airworthiness determination. Compliance is established only from an aircraft’s actual records.
