Airworthiness Directive 2026-09-06
one-timeAirworthiness Directives; Airbus SAS Airplanes
What this AD requires
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus SAS Model A319-153N airplanes; Model A320-251N, -252N, and -271N airplanes; and Model A321-251NX, -252NX, -271NX and -272NX airplanes. This AD was prompted by an Airbus supplier identifying a quality issue in production, which could result in potential deviations from the specified thickness of various fuselage panels. This AD requires, for certain airplanes, doing a "local thickness mapping," doing applicable additional instructions, a general visual inspection (GVI) of certain forward fuselage panels, a full panel thickness measurement, and applicable corrective actions. This AD also requires, for all airplanes, a dispatch restriction from using certain master minimum equipment list (MMEL) items, a prohibition to use certain structural repair manual (SRM) tasks. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
Which aircraft AD 2026-09-06 applies to
Applicability limited to airplanes identified in EASA AD 2026-0055R1, dated April 14, 2026.
Whether AD 2026-09-06 actually applies to your aircraft (by serial and installed parts) and whether it’s already complied with comes from that aircraft’s records.
How AD compliance is recorded
A valid compliance record (14 CFR 43.9) states:
Tailplate reads a tail number’s logbooks and matches every applicable AD — including this one — to its compliance evidence, with recurring next-due dates computed.
Look up a tail number →Read the full directive (Federal Register)Applicability is derived from the FAA directive corpus and is advisory, not a legal airworthiness determination. Compliance is established only from an aircraft’s actual records.
