What this AD requires

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain ATR-GIE Avions de Transport R[eacute]gional Model ATR72-212A airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of an engine electrical control #1 fault during flight caused by chafing damage on an electrical harness bundle. This AD requires modifying the electrical harness routes and de-icing pipe coupling installations, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference.
