Airworthiness Directives; Airbus Airplanes

What this AD requires

We are superseding an existing airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to certain Model A300 B4-600, B4-600R, and F4-600R series airplanes, and Model C4-605R Variant F airplanes (collectively called A300-600 series airplanes). This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:

B4-601/-603/-620/-622 (without trim tank) apply to all serial numbers except airplanes with Airbus Modifications 12226, 12365, 12490, and 12308 incorporated in production, or SB A300-28-6064 Rev 04 (Aug 24, 2009) or Rev 05 (Sep 27, 2010), or SB A300-28-6068 (Jul 20, 2005) performed in service. B4-605R/-622R, F4-605R/-622R, and C4-605R Variant F (with trim tank) apply to all serial numbers except airplanes with Modifications 12226, 12365, 12490, 12308, 12294, and 12476 incorporated in production, or SB A300-28-6064 Rev 03 (Dec 15, 2008), SB A300-28-6068 (Jul 20, 2005), or SB A300-28-6077 (Jul 25, 2005 or Rev 01 Oct 26, 2006) performed in service.

Whether AD 2011-21-14 actually applies to your aircraft (by serial and installed parts) and whether it’s already complied with comes from that aircraft’s records.

How AD compliance is recorded

A valid compliance record (14 CFR 43.9) states:

Method of complianceThe specific action taken (inspected, replaced, modified) and to what revision.
DateWhen the work was done.
Aircraft timeTotal time in service / tach at compliance — how recurring next-due is computed.
Signature & certificateThe A&P/IA who returned it to service, with certificate number.
Is AD 2011-21-14 complied with on your aircraft?

Tailplate reads a tail number’s logbooks and matches every applicable AD — including this one — to its compliance evidence, with recurring next-due dates computed.

Applicability is derived from the FAA directive corpus and is advisory, not a legal airworthiness determination. Compliance is established only from an aircraft’s actual records.
