Airworthiness Directive 2011-09-09
one-timeAirworthiness Directives; Bombardier, Inc. Model CL-600-2A12 (CL-601) and CL-600-2B16 (CL-601-3A, CL-601-3R, and CL-604 Variants) Airplanes
What this AD requires
We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:
Which aircraft AD 2011-09-09 applies to
Four groups: (1) CL-600-2A12 (CL-601) airplanes, S/N 3001-3066, on which Bombardier Service Bulletin 601-0590 has been accomplished; (2) CL-600-2B16 (CL-601-3A and CL-601-3R Variants) airplanes, S/N 5001-5194, on which Bombardier Service Bulletin 601-0590 has been accomplished; (3) CL-600-2B16 (CL-604 Variants) airplanes, S/N 5301-5665; (4) CL-600-2B16 (CL-604 Variants) airplanes, S/N 5701 and subsequent. AD also requires revisions to operator maintenance documents to add new inspections; compliance required under 14 CFR 91.403(c).
Whether AD 2011-09-09 actually applies to your aircraft (by serial and installed parts) and whether it’s already complied with comes from that aircraft’s records.
How AD compliance is recorded
A valid compliance record (14 CFR 43.9) states:
Tailplate reads a tail number’s logbooks and matches every applicable AD — including this one — to its compliance evidence, with recurring next-due dates computed.
Look up a tail number →Read the full directive (Federal Register)Applicability is derived from the FAA directive corpus and is advisory, not a legal airworthiness determination. Compliance is established only from an aircraft’s actual records.
