Airworthiness Directives; Sicma Aero Seat 90xx and 92xx Series Passenger Seats, Installed on, But Not Limited to ATR-GIE Avions de Transport Régional Model ATR42 Airplanes and Model ATR72 Airplanes

What this AD requires

We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:

Which aircraft AD 2010-02-06 applies to

MakesSicma Aero Seat
Models90xx, 92xx

Applies to Sicma Aero Seat 90xx and 92xx series passenger seats with part numbers listed in Annex 1, dated July 17, 2002, of Sicma Aero Seat Service Bulletin 92-25-005, Issue 3, dated January 17, 2003. These seats are installed on, but not limited to, ATR42-200/-300/-320/-500 and ATR72-101/-201/-102/-202/-211/-212/-212A airplanes; applies to the seats regardless of airplane modification/alteration/repair unless that work affects the AD's requirements (AMOC required in that case).

Whether AD 2010-02-06 actually applies to your aircraft (by serial and installed parts) and whether it’s already complied with comes from that aircraft’s records.

How AD compliance is recorded

A valid compliance record (14 CFR 43.9) states:

Method of complianceThe specific action taken (inspected, replaced, modified) and to what revision.
DateWhen the work was done.
Aircraft timeTotal time in service / tach at compliance — how recurring next-due is computed.
Signature & certificateThe A&P/IA who returned it to service, with certificate number.
Is AD 2010-02-06 complied with on your aircraft?

Tailplate reads a tail number’s logbooks and matches every applicable AD — including this one — to its compliance evidence, with recurring next-due dates computed.

Applicability is derived from the FAA directive corpus and is advisory, not a legal airworthiness determination. Compliance is established only from an aircraft’s actual records.
