What this AD requires
We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:
Which aircraft AD 2010-14-19 applies to
(1) A330 models listed: all serial numbers except those with Airbus mod 55590 embodied in production. (2) A340-211/-212/-213/-311/-312/-313/-541/-642 fitted with lower deck cargo compartment (LDCC): all serial numbers except mod 55590 embodied in production. (3) A340-311/-312/-313/-541/-642 fitted with bulk cargo rest compartment (BCRC): all serial numbers except mod 56047 embodied in production. Airbus mods 47198, 47884, 48895, 48710, 49136, 50107, 50900, 50901, or 51320 constitute BCRC embodied in production on A340-300/-500/-600; mods 47197, 47883, 50108 relate to the BCRC fire extinguishing system.
