What a valid AD compliance record shows

Per 14 CFR 43.9, a compliance entry states the method of compliance, the date, the aircraft time in service, and the signature and certificate number of the person returning it to service. For recurring ADs, the next-due date or hours is computed from that. Tailplate reads a tail’s logbooks and reconciles every applicable AD against this evidence.
